Omagbitse always was a “Teacher” – as early as primary school at Nazareth School in Festac Town, Lagos and Kings College Lagos he was always involved in offering private tutorials to his colleagues and supporting them in his favourite subject – Mathematics. He did the same at the University of Lagos in the final year of his course of study in accounting.
However, it was at IBTC after he was passed over for a promotion and received feedback that he needed to develop the capabilities of his direct reports that he formally started building himself as a trainer. The story goes that he organized so many training courses for the Northern Regional Office at IBTC Pensions, that when it was time for the Company to set up its own Training Department, Omagbitse was the first choice to head it.
He is credited with creating the very successful IBTC Pensions Academy – the in-house corporate training school that was pivotal to the success of IBTC Pensions in the pension industry in Nigeria.
In 2010, Omagbitse decided to “release himself to his destiny” and set up his own Training company – Learning Impact NG and has since developed and implemented hundreds of training interventions for leading institutions in Nigeria. He is a highly sought-after corporate trainer and his use of experiential teaching and facilitation techniques have received critical acclaim from clients, partners and participants who have benefitted from his programs.
Omagbitse also provides support to several other training and consulting firms in Nigeria as a member of their faculties, as well as in providing learning design solutions. He is an Association for Talent Development trained Learning Designer and a master of the art of learning and content design and development.
